Hello and congratulations newlyweds and first time home buyers! The two of you are starting a wonderful journey in marriage and real estate.

Buying your first home does not need to be scarey if you have someone you trust to have your best interests at heart at all times throughout the real estate transaction.

With the $8000 tax credit for first time home buyers, there has never been a better time to buy.

The goal of my blog is to keep newlyweds and first time home buyers informed of everything you need when considering purchasing your first home.

There are many considerations when you decide to become first time home buyers. In the following weeks I will address issues such as:

  • First time home buyers tax credit- in case you haven’t heard about it!
  • Location- where will you live? What areas do you like and can you afford those areas?
  • Budget- how much of a mortgage can you afford to pay? (Did you know that because of end of year tax credits for homeowners, you can afford a larger payment than you are currently making for rent payments?)
  • Ways to save for your down payment and other options – such as down payment regesteries.
  • How to choose an agent that is right for you.
  • First time home buyers assistance.
  • Combining your separate households into one harmonious home.
  • Homeownership vs renting
  • Much more!

Please feel free to let me know whats on your mind and what information you need to make your first time home purchase a success!

This is all fine and dandy, but can anyone tell me why after owning a home for 6 years, and getting married last May to my awesome – never owned a home – wife, I am now not eligible for the repeat buyer credit? Because we married, neither of us are eligible for either credit – The government id penalizing newly weds…..BullS*7%.
